Junior Marine Mechanic/Tech Responsibilities:

  • Test, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair marine engines (outboard and inboard), electrical, HVAC, plumbing, hydraulic, and other critical systems
  • Follow comprehensive maintenance plan that covers all vessel machinery, systems, and structure in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendation and supplemented by best practices unique to the local area
  • Ensure all vessels comply with contractual obligations relevant to services provided to the public including safety, schedules, fuel use, efficiency, staffing, data collection and reporting, general quality of service, compliance with applicable law
  • Work as a team player and display a positive attitude when faced with challenges

Junior Marine Mechanic/Tech Requirements:

  • At least three years of experience in the field of marine operations and maintenance, at least three years of which with a single employer is required.
  • Must have experience with diesel engines. Mercruy engines and Yamaha jet skis
  • Attainment of a nationally-recognized Marine Technician certification is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude for marine vessels (marine diesel engines, Mercury Outboard, Yanmar engines, ZF transmissions)
  • Knowledge of USCG regulations and safe vessel practices
  • Ability to operate with little or no supervision, using specialized tools and equipment in confined spaces
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
  • Ability to travel occasionally to other company locations, including travel outside the United States
  • Authorization to work in the United States for any employer is required
