Embedded Engineer Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience with Bluetooth
  • Background in embedded systems design, with particular expertise in firmware development.
  • Strong firmware and software engineering skills from design to coding, testing and release.
  • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in embedded systems development (e.g., C, C++, Python).
  • Good understanding of device level communication protocols (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C, USB).
  • Familiarity with device to cloud communication protocols (e.g., MQTT, Bluetooth, Matter)
  • Experience with microcontroller/microprocessor-based systems (e.g., ESP32, Nordic, ARM Cortex, PIC, AVR)
  • Familiarity in PCB design and schematics with strong ability to read and translate datasheets, device app notes into firmware design.
  • Familiarity of electrical engineering principles, including analog and digital circuit design, power electronics, and signal integrity.
  • Experience working with products with motion/actuation is a plus.

Embedded Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop firmware ensuring functionality, reliability and manufacturability.
  • Work closely with Electrical Engineers to review schematics, make tradeoffs between Hardware and Software, debug system issues.
  • Conduct integration testing and troubleshooting to ensure proper functionality and performance of embedded systems.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other team members, including engineers and technicians.
  • Maintain a high quality bar consistently while delivering features rapidly.
