Physicist Qualifications:
- Education: 5+ years of research experience focusing on STM, UHV systems, and low-temperature environments; Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or a related field is highly desired
- Technical Expertise:
- Advanced proficiency in STM spectroscopy for molecular analysis.
- Deep understanding of surface passivation techniques.
- Proven ability to work with STM and UHV instruments, evidenced by a strong publication record.
- Problem-Solving: Comprehensive understanding of electronics with the ability to troubleshoot and collaborate with electronics engineers on custom equipment.
- Collaboration: Effective team player with a proven ability to lead experiments independently and contribute meaningfully in a collaborative setting
- Enthusiasm: Loves learning and designing custom UHV systems, with the capability to take a hands-on approach in their operation and development.
- Communication Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal to foster a culture of innovation, learning, and excellence.
Physicist Responsibilities:
- Independently design, execute and analyze STM experiments with a focus on spectroscopy and molecular systems in low-temperature environments.
- Collaborate within a team to contribute to ongoing projects, share insights, and drive collective research objectives.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize STM and other UHV instruments, ensuring high performance and reliability.
- Work closely with the electronics team to troubleshoot and improve custom equipment, leveraging a comprehensive understanding of electronics.
- Research, learn, and contribute to the design, assembly, and operation of custom UHV systems.
- Publish high-quality research in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at conferences to showcase technical expertise and research achievements.
