Job Summary

This role is a key contributor to driving sales growth of custom and quick-ship electrical power distribution products, including primarily engineered-to-order Medium Voltage (MV) and some Low Voltage (LV) switchgear solutions. The position involves evaluating quotation opportunities, project costing, proposal preparation, and interfacing with engineering and manufacturing teams to deliver tailored solutions for customers.

Switchgear Sales Responsibilities:

  • Quotation Review: Evaluate and prioritize quotation opportunities, providing tailored solutions to customer challenges using technical expertise.
  • Project Costing: Develop cost sheets based on plans, specifications, and customer input, incorporating labor estimates and company margin expectations.
  • Proposal Creation: Prepare accurate and detailed proposals, including priced bills of materials and noted technical or commercial qualifications.
  • Sales Support: Enhance customer value by assisting sales representatives with proposal evaluation and order pursuit.
  • Pipeline Management: Monitor and report on the status of proposals, forecasts, and competitor activities to ensure effective sales strategies.
  • Data Accuracy: Maintain reliable and updated project information in sales reporting tools for team efficiency.

Switchgear Sales Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience: BA/BS with 3+ years of experience, Associate degree with 5+ years, or High School diploma with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Technical Expertise: Background in electrical power systems, with knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles.
  • Software Proficiency: Skilled in MS Office Suite and basic smartphone applications.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Problem-Solving: Adept at balancing diverse stakeholder needs and resolving challenges effectively.
  • Work Ethic: Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, manage time, and adapt to extended hours when necessary.
