Building Engineer
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Building Engineer to manage the maintenance, operations, and repair of the property’s infrastructure, ensuring all systems function efficiently and safely. This role includes overseeing HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety systems, coordinating contractors, and maintaining the venue, grounds, and associated spaces in top condition. This is an on-site role requiring hands-on work, emergency responsiveness, and strong organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building Maintenance: Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety systems. Address emergencies and troubleshoot as needed.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety standards. Maintain fire alarms, extinguishers, and life-saving equipment (e.g., defibrillators) and oversee regular testing.
- Grounds and Facility Upkeep: Manage cleaning, pest control, landscaping, parking lot maintenance, snow removal, and trash disposal. Coordinate contractors for special projects and routine services.
- Energy Management: Monitor energy usage, identify conservation opportunities, and guide departments on energy-efficient practices.
- Project Management: Plan, delegate, and manage repair and maintenance projects, ensuring completion on time and within budget.
- Staff Leadership: Schedule, supervise, and support the facilities team. Handle hiring, training, and performance management.
- Event Support: Collaborate with other departments to prepare the venue for events, including setup and operational logistics.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment inventory, and compliance logs.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in building or facilities management, preferably in a venue or similar environment.
- S95 certification, other Certificate of Fitness certifications, DOH, and OSHA certifications a plus
- Leadership and team management experience.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in various environments.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
