SMALL COMMERCIAL UNDERWRITER REQUIREMENTS

• 3+ years experience as an account manager or assistant underwriter
• Solid understanding of commercial P&C products, including GL, BOP, worker's comp, etc.

SMALL COMMERCIAL UNDERWRITER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review new business, renewals, endorsements, and quote requests to determine acceptability
• Communicate underwriting decisions, techniques, and interpretation of policy forms and coverages with agents
• Establish appropriate account pricing in accordance with established underwriting authority and company guidelines
• Visit agencies with the designated Territory Manager to discuss underwriting matters and assist in the development of new business
• Order and/or analyze loss control reports, financial reports, MVRs, and other underwriting reports
