The Sous Chef plays a pivotal role in ensuring the culinary department’s success, alongside the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef. This position involves daily preparation of high-quality products, menu execution, and tracking inventory to manage costs. The Sous Chef will recruit, mentor, and manage a talented kitchen team, ensuring high standards, productivity, and compliance with company policies.

Sous Chef Responsibilities:

• Oversee kitchen operations to ensure efficient, profitable service and adherence to high culinary standards.
• Maintain quality control of all food preparation, recipe specifications, and presentation.
• Recruit, onboard, and train kitchen staff, providing daily coaching and feedback.
• Track food costs, maintain inventory, and ensure food safety standards are met.
• Independently manage employee relations, schedules, and performance evaluations.
• Ensure cleanliness and adherence to food handling protocols.

Sous Chef Qualifications:

• Culinary Arts degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years in a similar role within an upscale restaurant.
• State-issued Health Certificate and Serve Safe certification required.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Flexible schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
