Job Summary
The Sous Chef plays a pivotal role in ensuring the culinary department’s success, alongside the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef. This position involves daily preparation of high-quality products, menu execution, and tracking inventory to manage costs. The Sous Chef will recruit, mentor, and manage a talented kitchen team, ensuring high standards, productivity, and compliance with company policies.
Sous Chef Responsibilities:
- Oversee kitchen operations to ensure efficient, profitable service and adherence to high culinary standards.
- Maintain quality control of all food preparation, recipe specifications, and presentation.
- Recruit, onboard, and train kitchen staff, providing daily coaching and feedback.
- Track food costs, maintain inventory, and ensure food safety standards are met.
- Independently manage employee relations, schedules, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure cleanliness and adherence to food handling protocols.
Sous Chef Qualifications:
- Culinary Arts degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years in a similar role within an upscale restaurant.
- State-issued Health Certificate and Serve Safe certification required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Flexible schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Sous Chef Compensation:
