Field Service Tech, Electrical Job Description:
A storied power distribution component manufacturer is primed for aggressive expansion into new and existing markets, and we are seeking a talented Field Service Tech, Electrical, to perform on-site servicing, diagnostics and repairs on electrical products or equipment.
Our technicians will make site visits to customers for troubleshooting and problem resolution, as well as advising on installations.

Field Service Tech, Electrical Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on electrical power distribution equipment to ensure the customer needs are resolved in a timely and high-quality manner via performing diagnostics and repairs on power distribution equipment
- Performing testing, inspection, and troubleshooting start-up and collect data of low, medium and/or high voltage electrical systems
- Conduct Low to High-voltage switchgear and circuit breaker testing and measuring
- Maintenance, testing, and repair of all electrical distribution equipment
- Translate measurements into drawings in support of sales and engineering
Field Service Tech, Electrical Desired Skills & Expertise:
- 2+ years experience in the operation and working on electrical equipment in the field (including live)
- BSEE or equivalent would be advantageous
- Must know electrical codes (NEC and local Chicago codes)
- Proficient in reading and accurately interpreting wiring diagrams, single lines, 3-phase power systems and switchboard/panel schedules
- Good understanding of low to high voltage switch gear including cabinets, and switchboard enclosures
- MUST be comfortable handling and maintaining live equipment and demonstrate proper safety procedures
- Experience in servicing, testing, and maintenance of switchgear, a plus
- Experience with refurbishing electrical distribution equipment, a plus
- May be required to work nights and/or weekends, as well as travel within the state as needed
