Heavy Equipment Operator

Now looking to grow our team, we are adding a Heavy Equipment Operator.
The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating various types of heavy machinery to assist in the construction of roads, bridges, infrastructure, and other civil projects. This role includes operating dozers, excavators, graders, and other equipment to perform earthmoving, grading, and excavation tasks, ensuring safety and precision. This role requires a combination of hands-on skill, knowledge of heavy equipment, and a commitment to safety and teamwork in civil construction environments.
Heavy Equipment Operator Key Responsibilities:
**Operate Equipment: Safely and efficiently operate heavy machinery such as excavators, bulldozers, graders, and skid steers to complete tasks related to grading, trenching, excavating, and backfilling.
**Site Preparation: Perform site preparation, including clearing land, leveling, and grading to prepare for further construction activities.
**Equipment Maintenance: Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment, reporting any issues and performing basic maintenance as needed to ensure functionality.
**Safety Compliance: Follow all site safety protocols and regulations, including proper equipment operation, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and adherence to OSHA standards.
**Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other crew members to ensure that construction activities align with project specifications and timelines.
Heavy Equipment Operator Qualifications:
**3+ years of experience operating heavy civil construction equipment such as excavators, dozers, and graders.
**Certifications: OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
**Competent Person Certification and CDL (if required) are a plus.
**Skills: Strong understanding of grading, excavation, and earthmoving techniques, with the ability to read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and GPS systems.
**Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, perform manual labor, and lift up to 50 pounds.
**Valid driver’s license and willingness to work extended hours at times
