Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Insurance Market Development Manager to develop and manage agency/broker relationships, including developing new businesses and retaining existing business within a territory. If you have retail agency relationships and know how to work with agents, resalers, and wholesalers, we would love to work with you!

Responsibilities for the Market Development Manager:

  • Develop and implement agency plans for each product offering within the territory and state.
  • Monitor performance to ensure profitable new and renewal business growth in line with underwriting appetite and guidelines. 
  • Execute and manage the entire agency relationship lifecycle, from prospecting and appointing to managing and evaluating agents and other distribution partners. 
  • Drive agency production initiatives and ensure partners achieve their business goals. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with agencies and other distribution partners at all levels.
  • Develop rapport with industry peers and actively participate in trade associations and industry events.


Qualifications for the Market Development Manager:

  • Minimum of 8 years of Commercial Lines experience
  • Commercial Lines Distribution and Frontline/production Underwriting Experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to network and build connections
  • Organization and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
