Resident Engineer Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams and contractors
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, specifications, and standards
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and community members
- Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement corrective actions as needed
- Prepare and review project documentation, reports, and budgets
- Represent the Client in UDOT meetings, public hearings, and other forums as required
Resident Engineer Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Utah
- UDOT CEMT Certification
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in transportation engineering and project management
- Strong technical knowledge of transportation engineering principles, practices, and regulations
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize workload effectively
- Experience working with government agencies, contractors, and community stakeholders
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
