Resident Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams and contractors
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, specifications, and standards
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and community members
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Prepare and review project documentation, reports, and budgets
  • Represent the Client in UDOT meetings, public hearings, and other forums as required

Resident Engineer Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Utah
  • UDOT CEMT Certification
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in transportation engineering and project management
  • Strong technical knowledge of transportation engineering principles, practices, and regulations
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize workload effectively
  • Experience working with government agencies, contractors, and community stakeholders
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
