Job Summary

The ideal Assistant General Manager will be goal-oriented and bring an energetic, approachable presence to the entire restaurant. In this role, you will work alongside the General Manager, overseeing the Front of House Managers, with a strong emphasis on team development. Your main priority is to deliver exceptional guest experiences while upholding company standards and ensuring flawless service.

You will manage all key aspects of the restaurant, including sales, revenue, service quality, profitability, banquet coordination, marketing, and community engagement. Additionally, you will ensure smooth day-to-day operations that comply with all local, state, and federal regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead managers and hourly staff to deliver exceptional guest experiences
  • Set standards for hospitality, service
  • Create weekly management schedules and assign specific responsibilities to Restaurant Managers.
  • Oversee all front-of-house (FOH) operations during opening, mid, or closing shifts, ensuring smooth guest relations, appropriate staffing, ambiance, cleanliness, food and beverage quality, bar performance, safety, and service pace.
  • Manage any unexpected issues or emergencies that arise during shifts.
  • Assist the General Manager in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, and managing staff
  • Handle HR functions such as coaching, counseling, and performance reviews.
  • Review applications, interview, and help hire hourly employees.
  • Support the General Manager with weekly and monthly P&L assessments.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen and management teams to ensure smooth service and top-notch guest experiences.
  • Implement and enforce company policies and initiatives to enhance service, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Provide hands-on support to the team at all levels.

Qualifications:

  • 3-4 years of General Manager experience, preferably in high-volume, upscale casual setting.
  • Hands-on leader
  • Great communication skills
  • Able to react, pivot, and resolve conflicts as. they arise.
  • Proficiency in Aloha, Open Table, Microsoft Office, and scheduling software.
  • Decisive
  • Passionate about hospitality
  • Open availability for various shifts.
