Job Summary

A national Hospitality Group seeks an accomplished Executive Chef to lead a Culinary Team to execute the highest level of fine dining. The ideal candidate will possess experience as an Executive Chef in a Fine Dining and/or Upscale Casual Independent restaurants or in a 4 to 5-star Club or Resort. Executive Chef Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supervision of all back-of-house team
  • Lead Culinary Team to the execution of the highest level of food preparation
  • Evaluate staff performance, product quality, and production flow—foster improvement where necessary
  • Develop new menus and individual menu items based on current food trends, regional tastes, and seasonal price fluctuations
  • Oversee Management of all inventory items
  • Establish and maintain vendor relationships
  • Facilitate Chef team-building classes for corporate clientele
  • Represents the property in the media when the occasion arises
  • Assists in estimating the annual food budget


Executive Chef Qualifications:

  • A graduate of a culinary institute with an Associate's degree highly desired, or completion of an equivalent apprenticeship program, certified through the American Culinary Federation
  • James Beard-acknowledged Chefs will be given immediate consideration
  • At least five years of experience in an Executive Sous Chef, Head Chef and/or Culinary management role
  • Must have completed courses in sanitation, nutrition, and supervision
  • Food Manager Certification required or completion of this certificate within six months of employment
  • Requires clear, concise written and verbal communication skills, strong technical skills, excellent time management skills, strong organizational skills, excellent safety and sanitation skills, and creative problem-solving skills
  • Responsible for providing overall direction, coordination, and ongoing evaluation of operations
