Position Overview:

As a Sous Chef specializing in Neapolitan-style pizzas, you will play an integral role in overseeing our pizza program, ensuring that each dish meets the highest standards of quality and flavor. We are looking for someone with 2-3 years of experience in upscale restaurants, demonstrating strong culinary abilities and leadership potential. The right candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a solid understanding of pizza dough fermentation, and the ability to manage a high-volume kitchen with poise.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily pizza kitchen operations, focusing on authentic Neapolitan-style pizza preparation.
  • Develop and execute seasonal menus that highlight premium ingredients and innovative flavor combinations.
  • Monitor the quality, taste, and consistency of all pizza offerings.
  • Lead and inspire a team of kitchen professionals, fostering a collaborative and positive atmosphere.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety standards, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Manage inventory and control food costs related to pizza ingredients.
  • Work closely with the executive chef and management team to create memorable dining experiences.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in high-end restaurants, with a focus on Neapolitan-style pizza.
  • Proven expertise in pizza dough preparation, fermentation, and wood-fired oven cooking.
  • Fine-dining experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a track record of successfully managing kitchen staff.
  • Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities.
  • Experience in New York City restaurants is a plus.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience is highly desirable.
