Our exciting client has a position for a Lead Data Engineer with a Finance & Cloud Infrastructure focus who has expertise in data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and collaboration with cross-functional teams such as finance and accounting while emphasizing leadership in data engineering. The role also requires someone talented in scalability, reliability, and performance focus. ***Must be authorized to work in the US, Canada, or LATAM.

Lead Data Engineer Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of working experience in relevant data fields.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker.
• Understanding of accounting principles, including the construction of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statement.
• Experience building data pipelines/ETL and familiarity with design principles.
• Expert in Python, PostgreSQL, and PL/pgSQL development and administration of large databases with focus on performance and production support on native cloud deployments.
• Deep understanding of programming and experience with at least one programming language.
• Good understanding of blockchain technology.
• Hands-on experience with stream-processing systems (RedPanda and Kafka).

Lead Data Engineer Responsibilities:

• Support the accounting and finance team in conducting data analysis.
• Develop robust, scalable data pipelines to ensure consistent and accurate data flow from both internal and external sources.
• Oversee cloud-based relational and non-relational databases, ensuring they are optimized for scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Work closely on defining system architecture, with a focus on designing solutions that prioritize scalability and security.
• Optimize data systems for real-time processing, aiming to deliver near-instantaneous data availability.
