Job Summary

The Controller will oversee the company’s financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining effective internal controls. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and leadership abilities. Reporting directly to the President, the Controller will play a key role in driving the financial success of the organization.

Controller Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidating financial statements in accordance with GAAP; ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Manage the annual audit process, coordinating with external auditors for timely completion.
  • Provide mentorship and identify professional development opportunities for the accounting team.
  • Create and maintain accounting policies to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Oversee preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring compliance and identifying tax savings opportunities.
  • Manage cash flow and liquidity; develop strategies to optimize capital structure.
  • Collaborate with leadership to set operational standards and drive financial compliance initiatives.
Controller Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a startup environment, with a proven record of increasing responsibility.
  • BS/BBA in Accounting or related field; CPA preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of GAAP and proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience managing a team of 5 or more.
  • Diligent and detail-oriented.
  • Knowledge of international accounting and state tax is a plus, but not required.
