Structural Engineer Qualifications:
- Physical capability to conduct field reviews
- Civil Engineering Bachelor's Degree
- 10+ years of experience in master planning, site planning, subdivision design, and construction documentation
- Valid Georgia Driver’s license with clean driving record
- Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, AutoCAD, and AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Effective time management, communication, and leadership abilities
- Knowledge of road design, NPDES regulations, and erosion control
- NPDES “Qualified Personnel” Level II certification or willingness to obtain
- Capable of managing multiple projects and adapting to changes
- Skilled in graphic presentation, layout, grading plans, and hydrologic studies
- Strong problem-solving, detail-oriented, and mathematical skills
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Civil Engineer in Georgia
Structural Engineer Responsibilities:
- Coordinate design interpretation, on-site investigations, and maintain technical databases
- Support project phases including programming, design, documentation, cost estimating, and observation
- Obtain permits and approvals, build relationships with permitting authorities, and manage zoning amendments
- Develop and uphold technical standards; manage time and resources effectively
- Ensure compliance with specifications, monitor production, and suggest efficiency improvements
- Conduct site observations and recommend design adjustments
- Review site plans for compliance and assess environmental impacts
- Maintain documentation, correspondence, and detailed drawings
- Ensure technical quality and provide professional certification for in-house documents
- Collaborate with associations and archaeologists for resource protection; collect field data using GPS
- Develop preliminary grading and site development documents; coordinate field staking with surveyors
