Job Summary

A Senior Director of Business Development is needed to oversee government, private, and non-profit sectors growth area with a focus on renewable energy programs, code enforcement, compliance, public safety disaster planning, and recovery. This position reports directly to the CEO and collaborates with the senior executive team. This is a non-profit organization that partners with federal agencies to make the community a better place. Senior Director of Business Development Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in leadership preferably with technology organizations and 8 years of business development in the federal market
  • Strong and deep relationships in the federal markets with a track record of building high-performance teams
  • Must be in alignment with our core values and mission statement
  • Demonstrated success, business and financial acumen, entrepreneurialism and leadership skills
  • Proven experience in executing and managing complex growth plans across multiple departments and visionary, future planning
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or Business with a strong business acumen

Senior Director of Business Development Responsibilities:

  • Leading the various teams and departments to develop long and annual growth plans across all markets leveraging partnerships and their network to create new lines of business
  • Optimizing the use of budgets to grow, build the brand image, and create technical improvements in order to obtain new contracts, grants and pipeline opportunities
  • Provide and complete reports, data, planning, KPIs and documentation through the business project life cycle to the clients, stakeholders, and executive leadership
  • Propose improvements to enhance project quality, cost-effectiveness, technologies, marketing and efficiencies
  • Coaching and developing staff, mentoring, establishing performance measures involving marketing, business development and market research
  • Travel between Ashburn, VA and Washington, DC locations with Hybrid schedule. Travel as needed
