Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, accounting, and operations, with a knack for optimizing procedures and driving cost-efficiency. This role is critical in ensuring our business operates smoothly and profitably.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation:
    • Perform and oversee the monthly reconciliation of the balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
    • Identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and provide recommendations for process improvements.
  • Chart of Accounts Management:
    • Maintain and update the company’s chart of accounts to ensure proper categorization and alignment with financial reporting needs.
    • Ensure the integrity of financial data and maintain consistent accounting treatment across all departments.
  • Financial Reporting & Cost Control:
    • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports, including the analysis of key financial metrics and variances.
    • Implement and monitor cost control measures to optimize operational efficiency.
    • Provide insight into financial performance and make recommendations to improve profitability.
  • Scalability & Strategic Growth:
    • Assist the accounting team in scaling financial operations as the company grows, ensuring that processes are aligned with organizational goals.
    • Work closely with the Controller and senior management to develop strategies that support the company’s expansion.
  • Transition to Controller Role:
    • Demonstrate readiness to step into a Controller position by taking on higher-level responsibilities, such as financial planning and decision-making.
    • Develop leadership skills and provide mentorship to junior accounting staff.
    • Lead special projects and initiatives aimed at improving financial controls and operational processes.
  • Understanding of Hospitality Operations:
    • Leverage knowledge of the hospitality industry to align accounting processes with operational goals.
    • Work closely with operations teams to ensure financial practices support the overall business strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA certification preferred).
  • Proven experience in balance sheet reconciliations, chart of accounts management, and cost control.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry is highly desirable.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Excel.
