Job Summary

Our client is a private equity-owned manufacturer in the electrical power distribution space with a long history. They are undergoing aggressive expansion into new and existing markets. Due to growth, they are seeking a Manager of Outside Sales to lead a diverse team of Business Developers/Sales Engineers to drive revenue and expand the customer base.


Manager of Outside Sales-Switchgear Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Team Management including coaching, training, mentoring, and evaluating a team of inside sales reps to achieve individual and team sales targets
  • Sales Strategy and Execution, including analysis of market trends, customer needs and competitor activities to identify new opportunities to drive sales growth, market share and revenue
  • Customer Relationship Management
  • Sales Forecasting
  • Design, implement and monitor KPIs to track effectiveness and identify areas of improvements and overall performance monitoring
  • Assist sales team in closing deals and building relationships with customers in the field
  • Support and implement sales process optimization

Manager of Outside Sales-Switchgear Qualifications:

  • BA or BS with 10 + years of electrical power industry experience
  • 3 years of experience leading diverse teams
  • Strong expertise in switchboards, switchgear, electrical distribution equipment/electrical and mechanical principles, control wiring, and control schematics; experience with low to high voltage from <600V up to 69KV
  • Demonstrated success with good proposal process methods;
  • Financial acumen and understanding of profit margins
  • Strong problem solver and adept at relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement sales plans to drive revenue growth.
  • NetSuite experience a plus
  • Willingness to travel out in the field
