Technical Designer Responsibilities:

• Partner with Product Development, Design, and Merchandising to build excellent product that fits within performance, cost, and timing restraints

• Create and update tech packs that communicate fit and construction details effectively and succinctly to vendors

• Work closely with PD/TD team to execute deadlines, streamline workload, communicate with vendors, and improve overall design processes

• Facilitate fit sessions with live models, including size sets • Demonstrate knowledge of fit, construction, and manufacturing process

• Identify fit issues, implement adjustments, and communicate necessary changes to optimize fit and functionality • Track prototype samples and status of comments; maintain and organize sample library

• Work with Senior Technical Designer to ensure fit and grading are standard across the brand

• Research industry trends in fit, technology, and fabrics

• Other tasks as needed


Technical Designer Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in apparel design, textile science, or related field

• Minimum 4 years technical design / product development experience in the apparel industry

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, a PLM system, and Excel; experience in 2D/3D pattern making software a plus (Gerber, Optitex, Clo, or Browzwear PDS)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external partners

• Ability to organize and manage multiple projects and timelines

• Pattern making experience and knowledge of garment construction and manufacturing process

• Must be a team player with a no-task-too-small attitude
