Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Private Club Membership Director. The Membership Director is responsible for driving membership growth, managing relationships with high-net-worth individuals, and maintaining an exceptional level of service for an exclusive private members club. This role is pivotal in engaging new members, building strong, lasting relationships with existing members, and ensuring a world-class experience tailored to the ultra-high-net-worth clientele.


Key Responsibilities:

Membership Acquisition & Sales

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan to attract and engage prospective members, focusing on individuals with a net worth of $100K+ annual membership fees.
  • Proactively identify and reach out to potential members through networking, events, and partnerships.
  • Conduct tours and consultations with prospective members, highlighting the value, exclusivity, and benefits of the club.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to create compelling campaigns and initiatives aimed at driving membership growth.

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with current members, ensuring their needs and expectations are consistently exceeded.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for members, providing a personalized and bespoke service.
  • Manage conflict resolution, ensuring that any member issues are resolved in a timely and satisfactory manner.
  • Regularly engage with members to gather feedback, understand their preferences, and tailor club offerings to meet their expectations.

Retention & Engagement

  • Develop and execute retention strategies to maintain a high membership renewal rate.
  • Organize exclusive events, programs, and experiences that appeal to the entrepreneurial, affluent, and socially active lifestyles of members.
  • Ensure members feel valued and connected to the community through thoughtful engagement and personalized communication.

Sales & Revenue Generation

  • Drive revenue growth through membership sales, upgrades, and referrals.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to forecast and manage membership revenue targets.
  • Propose and implement innovative sales strategies, keeping in mind the preferences of a discerning clientele.

Entrepreneurial Spirit & Flexibility

  • Leverage an entrepreneurial approach to identify and capitalize on opportunities for growth and improvement within the club.
  • Be adaptable and flexible, able to think on your feet and adjust strategies in response to shifting member needs and market dynamics.
  • Stay informed on luxury lifestyle trends, networking opportunities, and industry innovations to ensure the club remains at the forefront of elite membership experiences.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Ability to work with Senior Leadership to create/implement policies and procedures for the Membership Department
  • Lead and mentor a small team of membership support staff, ensuring they uphold the club's high standards of service.
  • Work closely with other departments such as events, food and beverage, and concierge services to create seamless and unforgettable member experiences.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a membership sales, client relationship management, or similar role, preferably within a luxury hospitality, private members club, or high-end service environment.
  • Sales & Relationship Management Expertise: Proven track record of successfully acquiring and retaining high-net-worth individuals as clients or members.
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: Ability to think creatively and strategically, identifying opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a polished and professional demeanor.
  • Flexible Thinker: Ability to adapt quickly, solve problems on the fly, and handle complex situations with finesse.
  • Discretion & Confidentiality: Demonstrates a high level of discretion and ability to manage sensitive, private information with the utmost confidentiality.
