We are seeking an experienced Assistant Financial Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting within the luxury hotel/resort sector. Responsibilities include overseeing accounting staff, preparing financial statements, and assisting with budgeting and audits. Apply Now



Assistant Financial Controller Responsibilities:


  • Directly oversee accounting staff, including training and development.
  • Assist in monitoring, assessing, and maintaining internal controls, corporate policies, and procedures.
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Prepare various monthly closing entries and assist with the month-end close process, analysis, and reporting.
  • Prepare and assist with monthly forecasting.
  • Prepare and file monthly sales and use taxes.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Assist the Financial Controller with all other accounting functions and administration.


Assistant Financial Controller Qualifications:


  • 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a luxury hotel or resort environment.
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is essential
  • Strong organizational skills and knowledge of standard filing systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Internet usage.
  • Experience and working knowledge of SunSystems or other large accounting systems, Opera, Micros/Symphony, and Birchstreet.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
