Job Summary
An international restaurant group is opening a Japanese restaurant in NYC and they are looking for great Sushi Sous Chefs to join their team. They are known for Japanese techniques with modern culinary artistry, creating an unforgettable dining experience.
Sushi Sous Chef Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Sushi Chef in creating and executing the sushi menu
- Prepare a wide variety of sushi, including maki, nigiri, and sashimi, with precision and artistry
- Ensure all sushi ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and prepared to the highest quality standards
- Maintain a clean and organized sushi bar, adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations
- Stay up-to-date with sushi trends and continuously improve skills and techniques
Sushi Sous Chef Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Sushi Chef, with at least 1 year in a leadership or sous chef role
- Extensive knowledge of traditional and modern sushi preparation techniques
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining quality and composure
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Passion for Japanese cuisine and a dedication to providing exceptional guest experiences
