Job Summary
Position Overview:
The Food and Beverage Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the restaurant's food and beverage operations. This includes managing staff, ensuring top-tier customer service, maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation, and maximizing profitability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in upscale dining, leadership experience, and a commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily food and beverage operations to ensure smooth service and exceptional guest experiences.
- Manage, train, and develop a team of servers, bartenders, and support staff.
- Ensure all staff adhere to restaurant policies, health and safety regulations, and service standards.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to curate seasonal menus and pairings.
- Maintain inventory and ordering of food, beverages, and supplies.
- Manage scheduling, payroll, and performance evaluations for the food and beverage team.
- Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints with professionalism and tact.
- Analyze financial reports to monitor costs, sales, and profitability, implementing strategies to achieve revenue targets.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Ensure that the restaurant’s ambiance, cleanliness, and overall presentation meet the high standards of the establishment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in food and beverage management, preferably in an upscale or fine dining environment.
- Three years as a restaurant General Manager or five (5) years as a restaurant Assistant General Manager with full P&L responsibility are required.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage trends, wine, and cocktail pairings.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Proficiency in inventory management, cost control, and budgeting.
- Outstanding problem-solving skills and a customer-centric approach.
- Experience with restaurant management software and POS systems.
- A degree in hospitality management or a related field is a plus, but not required.
