Job Summary

The General Manager for this one of a kind oceanfront property on the Oregon coast is responsible for ensuring the overall success of the resort by achieving profitability goals, maintaining high guest satisfaction levels, and overseeing all operational aspects.


General Manager Responsibilities:

  • Monitor hotel performance through guest satisfaction analysis and financial reports; take corrective actions as needed
  • Maintain high product and service standards through ongoing evaluations and effective complaint resolution
  • Develop and execute comprehensive financial objectives aligned with company goals
  • Lead marketing, sales, and operational initiatives to achieve business plan objectives
  • Ensure compliance with brand standards, fostering a consistently high level of guest satisfaction
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, interpersonal skills, and initiative to drive team performance
  • Prepare management reports on operational effectiveness, trends, and variances
  • Establish and maintain a proactive human resources function, overseeing employee motivation, training, development, and compliance
  • Implement safety practices and preventative maintenance programs
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders including guests, vendors, and government officials
  • Foster a cooperative work environment across all resort departments


General Manager Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • At least five years of relevant experience in the hotel/resort industry
  • Proficiency in hotel computer systems and spreadsheet applications preferred
  • Fluency with operational financials


General Manager Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent English language proficiency (written and verbal)
  • Spanish language proficiency strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications
  • Sound judgment, decision-making ability, and effective interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines
