A highly-rated Modern Restaurant seeks a creative and ambitious Executive Sous Chef willing to relocate to Syracuse, NY. This is a hands-on position with autonomy over a small team. You will be responsible for all kitchen operations while assisting the venue's Executive Chef in directing, motivating, and leading your team to excellent results. Executive Sous Chef's Responsibilities & Requirements:
- 4+ years of Upscale Restaurant CDC or Executive Sous Chef Experience
- Highly creative and skilled in New American cuisine
- Takes initiative and has a strong sense of urgency
- Must have experience in upscale or fine dining scratch kitchens
- Must be creative, passionate about food, and execute consistency
- Manage all administrative duties for back-of-house
- Menu development
- Understanding of labor controls and food costs
- Must be highly organized and communicate well up and down the chain of command
- Open to working days, nights, and weekends
- Ensure all operations of the kitchen are optimal and executed to plan
- Ability to manage with integrity, honesty, and knowledge while promoting culture and values
- Comply with all county and state laws governing food service operations
