Hotel Director of Facility Engineer

We are looking for a highly experienced and dynamic Hotel Director of Facility Engineering / Chief Facility Engineer to oversee all aspects of our facility's maintenance, engineering operations, and environmental sustainability.
Job Summary:
The Hotel Director of Facility Engineering / Chief Facility Engineer is responsible for managing the hotel's physical infrastructure, ensuring that all systems, equipment, and facilities operate efficiently and safely. This role requires a strategic leader who can manage a team of engineers and maintenance staff, oversee large-scale projects, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facility management, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the unique demands of a hotel environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facility Management:
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of all hotel facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, spas, pools, and meeting spaces.
- Ensure the optimal operation of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to extend the life of hotel assets and reduce downtime.
Project Management:
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
- Prepare and manage budgets for facility operations and capital projects.
Health, Safety, & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to building codes, fire safety, and environmental standards.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and mitigate risks.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance documentation.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in facility management, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems and pools.
- Proven experience managing large-scale projects and leading a team of professionals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, guests, and external partners.
- Certification in facilities management or engineering (e.g., CFM, LEED AP) is a plus.
