Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced New York State Certified Teacher to join an organization committed to expanding, awakening and enlightening children's minds. This is a full-time 12-month position

Typical hours are Monday to Friday 9:00-4:30 


Lead Teacher Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education
  • New York State Certification required (B-2 or N-6)
    • or eligible for study plan
  • 3+ years of experience working with children ages 2-5 years of age
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Experience planning Early Childhood classroom activities, knowledge of progressive approaches to Early Childhood education, and experiences with the Creative Curriculum
  • Experience with typical and atypical language, cognitive, motor, social, and self-help skills development
  • Desire to work with a diverse population of children and families
  • Well-versed in DOH/DOE contractual and licensure requirements
  • Knowledge of Early Learn, Head Start, DOH Article 47 standards

Lead Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a nurturing, safe, and healthy environment for all children
  • Develop engaging activities and lesson plans
  • Provide services to all children and families with respect, confidentiality and dignity 
  • Document the learning and growth that the children experience
  • Relate to families in a holistic fashion to address matters such as education, social services, health, nutrition, and family issues
  • Ensure parent involvement and/or awareness in program planning
  • Supervise and collaborate with Assistant Teacher and Teacher Aide
  • Consistently update and maintain children’s progress reports, daily health logs, incident logs, accident reports, lesson plans, and weekly child observation notes, et
