Job Summary
Our established and highly regarded client is seeking their next Restaurant Sous Chef.
The Sous Chef assists the Executive Chef with managing food quality through leadership by promoting an atmosphere that motivates and recognizes the back-of-house team members. This high-volume restaurant is part of a growing group, with three new restaurants opening in the next 18 months. We are offering a $5000 sign on bonus + paid relocation assistance.
Restaurant Sous Chef Duties and Responsibilities:
- Providing a safe and sanitary work environment
- Supervising staff to conform to all standards and regulations.
- Interview, train, and develop the back-of-house staff members
- Coach/counsel, resolve problems, and empower the staff with open communication
- Responsible for operating a profitable restaurant
- Manage and operate the kitchen within budget to include labor, purchasing, and production
Restaurant Sous Chef Qualifications:
- Three plus years of culinary experience, preferably in a high-volume restaurant
- Attention to detail, well organized, and able to multi-task
- Has personal initiative, action, and results-oriented
- Interpersonal and motivational skills, ability to effectively supervise and instill cooperation
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Strong working knowledge with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel
