Executive Chef Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience as an Executive Chef or Chef de Cuisine in a fine dining restaurant
• 8+ years experience in hi-volume / fine dining kitchens in NYC
• Some experience with Japanese food and cooking
• Ability and passion for leading a team
• Knowledge of labor and food cost principles
• Expert level at expediting
• Hands-on approach to running a kitchen
• Must have experience and passion for Japanese cuisine.
• Ability to step into an established brand and grow with the company

Executive Chef Responsibilities:

• Work as a team with the entire restaurant staff
• Oversee and manage all BOH managers and operations, ensuring a clean and organized back of house 
• Reviewing staffing levels to meet service, operational, and financial objectives. 
• Hiring, training, scheduling, payroll, evaluation of culinary team 
• Performing administrative tasks, taking inventory of food and equipment supplies, and doing purchase orders 
• Setting and monitoring performance standards for the kitchen team 
• Collaborate with executive management and ownership to create a successful and efficient operation 
• Always create a great guest experience
• Adhere and direct the team to follow standard recipes to uphold quality and consistency
• Assist in the development of new menu items and specials
• Help manage kitchen daily operations
