Job Summary
Our client leads the charge in enhancing energy efficiency within the hospitality sector, providing state-of-the-art solutions for new constructions and existing buildings. They are currently looking for a Retro-Commissioning Building Specialist (RCx) to join their expanding team. This remote role offers the opportunity to deliver significant environmental solutions for clients and make a positive impact on our planet.
Retro-Commissioning Engineering Specialist (RCx) Responsibilities:
- Collaborate effectively within a team to perform ASHRAE energy audits, optimize HVAC controls and operations, and conduct Retro-Commissioning (RCx) for existing buildings
- Take charge of RCx initiatives, overseeing auditing, inventorying, base lining, benchmarking, managing implementation, and conducting Measurement and Verification (M&V)
- Perform field investigations, create scopes of work for Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs), draft detailed energy reports, calculate energy savings, and estimate costs for hotels and large commercial buildings exceeding 100,000 sq. ft.
- Identify Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) relevant to hotel Building Automation Systems (BAS) and enhance HVAC and control systems operationally
- Develop and evaluate ECMs for energy savings using established engineering calculation spreadsheets
- Produce detailed written reports that encompass technical analyses, financial evaluations, and recommendations
Project Management:
- Formulate targeted strategies, goals, and objectives for project implementation
- Collaborate with owners, controls contractors, and mechanical contractors to select suitable technical approaches for implementing efficiency solutions
- Direct energy efficiency projects, managing scheduling, budgeting, meetings, pre-qualification, site visits, estimating, scope definition, and Measurement and Verification (M&V) activities
- Facilitate technical discussions with clients on scope, projected savings, and M&V methodologies to ensure comprehensive understanding and alignment
Retro-Commissioning Engineering Specialist (RCx) Qualifications:
- 15+ years of expertise in Energy Audits, Commissioning, and/or Retro-Commissioning
- 15+ years in Building Automation Systems, Direct Digital Controls, and HVAC systems
- Demonstrated track record in developing accurate cost estimates for energy conservation measures
- Exceptional skills in technical report writing and verbal communication
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or related field required
- PE certification preferred
- Acute time-management, presentation, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Retro-Commissioning Engineering Specialist (RCx) Benefits:
