The Catering Director is responsible for effectively selling the public space, food, beverage, and function planning services of the venue to maximize revenues and profits. The Catering Director establishes catering options for students, faculty, and administrators. The Catering Director is responsible for supervision and support in planning catering events of varying sizes and levels in both central and satellite locations.

Catering Director Requirements:

• To oversee the catering operations of the staff and rental equipment, set-up, preparation, service, and break down of catered foods, beverages, and events of varying sizes.
• Book events, cost menu items, and price out the offerings
• Develop external customer relations; representing the client at any and all meetings and events.
• Ensure that appropriate sanitation, organization, and safety standards are met through the use of checklists, hands-on supervision, and follow-up.
• Participate in all catering training programs; help to develop and implement training programs for hourly, part-time, and student employees.

Catering Director Requirements:

• Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
• Work with other F&B managers and keep them informed of F&B issues as they arise.
• Monitor quality of service in banquets.
• Meet or exceed solicitation goals and revenue goals.
• Develop menus and agendas, ensure BEOs are issued, and complete all pertinent correspondence with outside vendors to finalize programs.
• Handle inquiry calls and outside sales calls. Follow through to completion of function(s).
• Ensure compliance with all local liquor laws, and health and sanitation regulations
