Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic Director of Sales to spearhead revenue growth and broaden the museum's influence within the local community and beyond. Drawing upon your seasoned expertise in sales and customer engagement, you will lead the charge in conceptualizing and implementing strategic initiatives aimed at bolstering attendance, boosting membership, and enriching the overall visitor experience.


Director of Sales Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies focused on driving ticket sales local and tourist, group bookings, memberships, and other revenue-generating opportunities for the museum. Identify target markets, customer segments, and promotional channels to maximize sales effectiveness and ROI.
  • Audience Engagement: Develop strategies to deepen engagement with existing visitors and attract new audiences to the museum through targeted sales initiatives and promotions.
  • Partnership Development: Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with local businesses, tourism boards, schools, and other organizations to increase awareness and drive visitor traffic.
  • Revenue Optimization: Analyze sales performance metrics to identify areas of opportunity and implement strategies to optimize revenue generation through pricing, packaging, and promotional tactics.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the sales budget, allocating resources effectively to achieve strategic objectives while maintaining financial disciplineand accountability.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with marketing, operations, and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of sales initiatives with overall business objectives and marketing strategies.

Director of Sales Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales leadership roles, venues with 1M visitors annually, preferably in the arts, entertainment, hospitality, or tourism industry.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and achieving sales targets in a dynamic and competitive environment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to decision-making and a passion for innovation and creativity.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with diverse stakeholders to achieve common goals.
